Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer

I know I've talked about Jergen's Natural Glow Express a lot, but I am newly obsessed with the firming moisturizer from the same line. This lotion, unlike the express, has a subtle shimmer when applied and absorbs fairly quickly.  While the smell leaves something to be desired, by skin felt smooth and moisturized after I applied it.  I am very fair and this tans my skin perfectly, no streaks and no discoloration.

A perfect foundation

Today I stopped by local superstore and decided to spend yet more money on cosmetics (what can I say, I'm an addict!) and stumbled upon Neutrogena Healthy Glow Sheers.  Naturally  I had to give it a try, so I ran out to my car and immediately applied the product (using a sponge).  At first I wasn't really feeling it, it didn't seem to give me any coverage, however, once I got inside and took a second glance I was amazed how smooth and even my skin looked! While my skin has gotten a little oily since I applied it but I think if you brush on a little translucent powder it should be fine!

Paraben Free Moisturizer

There has been quite a bit of buzz lately regarding paraben and the negative effects it can have such as increasing the speed of aging.  As a green girl at heart, I have always been in search of a fabulous paraben free moisturizer.  I have been using Giovani Raspberry winter for a few months now and absolutely love it! It moisturizes better than any lotion I have ever tried, smells great and is free of harsh preservatives! If your skeptical at least give it a try!

Pronto Dry Shampoo

I have always been one of those girls who feels the need to wash her hair everyday.  Not only do I have short hair, but it also gets oily very quickly! I have just discovered my miracle hair product! Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo is a powder based shampoo that you squeeze on down close to your roots and rub in and voila salon perfect hair without water! I tried it last night after I had worked out and my hair looked like it had just been washed!  The yummy lemon verbena scent doesnt hurt either!

Fabulous Lip Gloss

I am in love with Mark's Glow Baby Glow lip gloss.  This minty-fresh lip gloss is the perfect size and they can be attached to each other! This non-sticky gloss has a light, minty scent and translucent color. The gloss is easy to apply and leaves lips feeling super moisturized!  The only downside is the gloss does not last as long as I would like...it has to be reapplied about every 20 minutes but at $5.00 a tube is totally worth it!

Got 2 B smooth operator is my new favorite product....I know I say that daily, but this is seriously it!  It not only smoothed my often times frizzy/damaged hair, it also enhanced my highlights! The first morning I used it several of my sorority sisters asked if I had gotten my hair done, which is amazing considering I haven't had in done in months!!!  Apply this creamy formula (dime size is plenty) to damp hair and style as usual! You can also apply it to dry hair before or after heat styling.  This wonder-product claims to protect hair from UV damage as well as seal in moisture...what more could a girl as for?

Primer

So yesterday at my, what feels like weekly, trip to Ulta, I stumbled upon this lovely product.  I have tried the plain old Photo Finish several times before and have loved it, however I had never seen one with SPF.  I decided I HAD to try it and plunked down the $17 for the tiny tube of Photo Finish UVA/UVB 15 with Dermaxyl (a peptide complex which is proven to reduce wrinkles),which is a fairly large feat for a poor college student.  This morning, I woke up 1 5 minutes before class, as usual, and without washing my face slapped this on and began applying my makeup.  My face felt incredibly soft after I applied Photo Finish and my makeup slid on SO easily.  I am already in my second class on the day and my makeup still looks perfect, no shine in sight!

Faux Glow

As a fair skinned girl, I am always in search of the latest and greatest product that will give me a bronzy glow! I have tried several products for my face, many of which have ended in complete disasters, however I am in love with Summer Glow by Neutrogena. I have been using this for about a week now and although I have not noticed a significant difference, my skin is a few shades darker and looks healthier.  Like other tanning products, this one has a slight odor, but it didn't bother me at all.  Also another plus, is that it has SPF 15.  Overall I have liked this product and would highly recommend it for anyone with fair skin who is looking for a glow.

Water

In an effort to give my skin that "glow," (you know the one I'm talking about, that I just spent a month in St. Tropez-had a facial everyday and have the perfect tan glow) I looked up the correct amount of water that a healthy adult should drink daily; the results were not pretty.  I consulted several different websites and they all had the same information.  Healthy adults should drink between 2 and 2.5 liters daily!  I don't know about you, but that seems like a little bit much, I mean I want my skin to glow but I don't know that I am willing to be in the restroom every five minutes to achieve it.  I decided that I could at least give it a try, so here I am sitting in my cubicle in the library, laptop in hand and a supersize bottle of Evian sitting next to me.  Im hoping that my constant trips downstairs to the restroom will pay off and my skin will be acne-free and glowing by the weekend.

Your Evian- sipping, Beauty addict.

Face Masks

I have been experimenting with face masks for quite some time now and have found a few that work for different skin types.

Acne Prone Skin-
I love Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask, which claims to "dry up acne pimples and sweep away blackheads," also "relaxes tired facial muscles and eases tension lines on the face and neck." My face felt noticeably softer and my acne looked significantly better. For more details and retail locations visit the webpage here.

Normal/Oily-
I really like a new mask by Clean and Clear called SOFT in Shower Facial.  The product claims to "provide a deep cleansing treatment to detoxify, soften and smooth young skin."  I loved the light, clean fragrance, it was very relaxing.  Also, the small exfoliating beads left my skin glowing while the deep moisturizers left my skin feeling softer than it's ever been. Check it out here!

Dry Skin-
For dry, winter skin, I love Boots No. 7 Intensive Moisture Face Mask.  This vitamin infused mask can be left on for up to 10 minutes or can even be left on overnight for severely dry skin.  The light fragrance is not overwhelming, but oddly refreshing.  This mask left my skin amazingly hydrated and fresh looking.   Read more about the product here!

A Pink Moisturizer?

Obviously I was immediately attracted to Wexler's MMPI.20 Skin Regenerating Serum because of it's unique shade of pink.  I love this product for many reasons; first of all it is light enough, yet moisturizing enough to be used in the summer and winter, second it really does work (It claims to help skin replace collagen, keep its youthful appearance and help reverse sun damage).  I have been using this product for almost a year now and my skin has never felt better.  I apply the cream only at night (I have semi-oily skin) under my regular moisturizer and in the morning my skin feels baby-soft.  I highly reccomend it for those of you who want to jump on the anti-aging wagon early! Once again, it is pricey- $55 for 3.4 oz.

More information regarding the product can be found here!

The Perfect Night Cream

As a college student I pull all-nighters more frequently than I would like.  Thus I am always on the hunt for a night cream that will help reverse the damage from my sleepless nights.  I have found a wonder product in Night-A-Mins.  This citrus scented cream not only moisturizes my face but I wake up glowing.  I have very sensitive skin and have been using this product for a few months and have had NO problems.  While the product is a little bit pricey for students ($32.50 for 1.7 oz) it lasts forever and no one in class will know that you haven't slept for 24 hours!

Check out full details on the product here!

Italian Love Affair

I am always on the hunt for the perfect chic, shade of pink nail polish.  It has to be subtle enough for everyday and yet my nails must look painted.  My old steady is OPI Nail Laquer in "Italian Love Affair."  I just bought a new bottle today and was just as thrilled as ever with the results.  You can purchase Italian Love Affair here as well as browse OPI's many shades.

The Wave

So today while I was shopping I saw this nifty little device and decided that I could splurge for it.  I have not tried it yet but it was only $11.99 and claims to unclog pores using gentle vibrations, leaving skin silky soft. Im going to try it tonight, hopefully it lives up to its claims!  You can read more details about the wave and purchase your own here.

The mascara dilemma

Ok so for a few months now I have been attempting to go green with many of my beauty products.  So far I have found a few great products (I will post them soon I promise!) but nothing has performed better than Korres Provitamin B5 and Rice Bran Mascara.  This mascara is amazing, it makes my short, thin lashes amazingly voluminous and also conditions them.  What more could a girl ask for? The packaging is also 100% recyclable and its cruelty free.  The mascara, along with all of Korres' fabulous products can be purchased here.  At their home page!

First Day

So I decided that, with what little free time I have, I would start a blog in which I will discuss beauty products that I feel will appeal to college age women.  My roommate encouraged me and thus college beauty addict was born.  Im going to attempt to post at least once a day.....so here goes!
