Work is literally taking over my life. I hardly have time to sleep and see friends let alone blog, but alas I have made time for you mes amour :)

I have a dilemma. For the past year or so my skin has looked amazing, I mean I had the occasional breakout but for the most part and I was clear and smooth...enter March 2010. I have landed myself in breakout central, every morning I wake up and find a new little nemesis on my face.

Finally after about a month of my acne battle, I surrendered and hauled my but to the derm to get some troops to be rid of acne for good. Enter Clindamyacin Gel and RetinAMicro. While I cant say yet if its working, I can say this. Its making my skin peel like none other. Typically my skin is combination so I have some peeling in the winter but never to this extent. So...the reason im telling you lovelies about this is I need suggestions, anyone use these two products before? How did you keep the dryness at bay? did they work for you?

Finally Back with New Reviews.....

Pardon my long absence....I have been dealing with life after graduation, travelling, finding a job and the like which I'm sure you know is a full time job in itself. Anyways, while I've been on my hiatus, I've discovered tons of new products that I absolutely HAVE to share with you, the first and perhaps my absolute favorite is Clairol's Shine Happy. I had my hair highlighted recently and I was far from pleased with the results. The technician did not apply the color close enough to my roots leaving my hair looking like I already had a month's worth of growth that and the fact that my hair grows fast in the first place did not give for happy results. In an effort to save money and not return to the salon 3 weeks after my previous appointment, I purchased Clairol's Shine Happy in hopes of giving my hair a boost. This product promises to deliver extreme shine in only ten minutes. So I slathered it on and bubbled bathed it up for about 10-15 minutes then rinsed the product out and conditioned it with the tube included in the kit. On a whim I decided to blow dry my hair in hopes of seeing some serious shine. I was STUNNED. I mean seriously, i rarely say that about a product but this one blew me away. My hair, normally a frizzy mess after a blow out was perfectly smooth and straight with no fly aways. In addition it has some serious shine action going on as well as some serious softness. It also seemed to bring out my highlights and make them look less "grown out." I would highly recommend this product to anyone searching for a deep conditioning treatment with great shine, absolutely worth the $9. I will be repurchasing this kit in about 6 weeks, which is how long each treatment should last.

Dermalogica Clean Start

Every time I come back home from school my skin rebels. It must be something about the change in water or that fact that I am finally catching up on sleep, but whatever it is, its not pleasant. My skin has been in a full fledged revolt for the past three weeks and finally, I decided to take charge. Now Im not the kind of person that breaks out everywhere on my face but I have intense concentrations of acne around my mouth and nose, this drives me crazy as I am typically acne free, baring the usual monthly breakout. Anyways after having no luck with Proactiv (something I've used on and off for year), I decided to kick it up a notch. After reading a review about Dermalogica's anti aging skin care system, I decided to give Clean Start, a system directed towards teens, a try. At first I was skeptical as, in the past, nothing has worked when my skin revolts, however, after only one use my skin looks better. The first day I used both the Wash Off cleanser and the Ready, Set, Scrub, both of which made my skin feel soft, fresh and not dried out. Typically my skin is super sensitive to all acne treatment systems but this one gave me no problems! Also, all of the products smell great! There is no medicinal, clinic smell here, only fresh fruits and herbs. My only complaint is the price. At $35 for a small travel kit, I felt it was a little steep, however if it continues to treat my acne, its well worth the price! Overall I am in love after only two days, however, we all know how quickly things can change so I will be sure to keep everyone updated.

Earth Science Azulene Eye Cream

I have extremely fair skin and along with that comes the inevitable and dreaded dark circles. In addition, I tend to develop extremely noticeable bags under my eyes no matter how much sleep I get. That being said, I am constantly trying out new products in hopes of ending this chronic problem. My newest love is Earth Science Azulene Eye Treatment. While I was searching the aisles of Whole Foods for a miracle zit cream, I stumbled across the tester for this delightful little product, whose vibrant blue hue immediately caught my attention. Now I have only been using it for a few days but already I have noticed the delicate skin under my eyes looks firmer and fresher, definitely a plus from before. While I can't give this a thumbs up yet, things are looking great for this little guy.

After a long hiatus....

I know, I know. Its been entirely too long since my last post, however I have a good excuse; college. Between my two seminars and enjoying my last few months, posting slipped my mind, thats not to say that I haven't been keeping products in mind. I have some excellent new product reviews coming up as well as a few new tutorials so get excited, it's summer and time to get beautiful!

So for my first review of this new season...

Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream
One night while pulling an all nighter at my sorority house, my skin was feeling super dry from lack of sleep and dehydration, so one of my sisters handed me this little miracle jar. At first I was skeptical as I have tried several BB products in the past and have not had much success, however, this cream was love at first touch. It smells delighful and slicks on easily. My only complaint is the slightly sticky texture, however that proves not to be a problem after several minutes as it absorbs quickly. When I wake up in the morning I find my skin looking refreshed and radiant, it must have something to do with the "Royal Jelly" ingredient, but my skin LOVES it!

Clinique Long and Pretty Mascara

During my two week trip to Egypt, I somehow, misplaced my mascara and had to rely on my roommate to darken my fair lashes. Luckily my roommate had great taste in mascara and introduced me to my new favorite, Clinique Long, Pretty lashes. Not only does this mascara not clump, it lasts all day and delivers volume, curl and length!!! Also one of my biggest pet-peeves is mascaras that flakes, none here! I replaced my beloved Chanel Inimitable as this one has a much better price tag and provides the same results. If you are looking for a fabulous moderately priced mascara than this is the one for you!

Review: Eva Yoghurt and Cucumber Cream

I think I am in love. During my travels throughout Egypt, I ran out of my beloved Olay moisturizer and had to brave an Egyptian pharmacy to replace it. After an hour of exploring the enormous skin care aisle (Egyptian women have AMAZING skin!) I settled on this little gem of a product. This daily cream is marketed for oily skin, which is a big problem for me. It contains all natural ingredients, including Cucumber and Yogurt, which sounded extra nice in the hot Egyptian weather. Not only does this moisturizer give my skin the perfect amount of moisture, it also mattifies, making if perfect for under makeup. I have also noticed, after using it for almost 3 weeks, that my skin looks more radiant, clear and smooth, which is always a plus. Eva does have two other products, when marketed for dry skin and the other for normal skin. I am so upset that I didn't have time to go back and purchase these as well. Luckily they have a website where the products can be ordered, on the downside, the price of shipping is rather steep. Oh! I almost forgot the best part! The 170g jar I bought only cost about $1.50! What a steal for such a great product!

It seems like I've been gone forever! I got back from Egypt about two weeks ago and was thrown directly into classes, thus my posts have been neglected. No worries, however, as I have tons of new reviews coming up, including a few Egyptian products. Here goes,

Review: Neutrogena Deep Clean Relaxing Night Scrub

On my first Walmart trip after Egypt, I was perusing the skin care aisle when this lovely lavender bottle caught my eye. The words, relaxing and deep clean caught my attention, being the stressed college student that I am, so I decided to give it a try. Later that night, I hopped into a nice, steamy shower and gave the scrub a whirl. First let me just say that the scent is amazing!!!! A combination of lavender and lilac, its light but intoxicating none the less. As for the scrub itself, once again Neutrogena has gone above and beyond. The cleanser leaves skin exfoliated and yet amazingly moisturized. Honestly I was so obsessed with it, I didn't want to stop washing my face! Definitely a keeper!

Metropolis Cordless Flat Iron

I think I may be in love. Let's backtrack for a second. Two years ago when I went to London on vacation, I brought my beloved Chi straightener only to have it melted to an unrecognizable heap a day later. Instead of repurchasing my pink chi, I decided to invest in the Metropolis straightener. You can imagine my surprise when I stumbled across this cordless version on Sephora's website. Sadly, I did not find this until the day before I leave for Egypt, this would have been a great tool to bring to Egypt, in order to prevent a reoccurrence of the Chi incident. Alas, I did not find it in time, this will have to be a post Egypt purchase.

Review: Makeup Forever Smoky Lash

After misplacing my beloved Chanel Inimitable mascara, I decided to step out of the box and try something new. Enter Makeup Forever Smoky Lash. After reading several reviews on the product, I decided that this volumizing and curling mascara was the one for me. Another plus is the fact that its ultra pigmented, providing for smoldering lashes. The only downside I have noticed thus far (I've been using it for about a week) is that it flakes and clumps. The clumping is easily solved with an eyelash brush but the flaking is rather annoying. On the plus side, I love the color and the volume.

Review: Loreal EverPure Shampoo

Yesterday as I was running last minute errands before I jet off to egypt, I stumbled upon a new sulfate shampoo by Loreal called EverPure. This color protect shampoo is comparable to Pureology, it even smells similar. There are two formulas, smoothing and moisturizing, the one that I chose, both smell faintly of Rosemary and Juniper. Yesterday I used the shampoo and the deep conditioning mask and I was amazed. I blow dried and straightened and to my amazement I had absolutely NO flyaways, frizz or dryness. I have to say that I am usually one that does not use shampoos that don't come from a salon, however, I am replacing my beloved kerastase shampoo in my suitcase with EverPure. We will see how well EverPure hold up in the Egyptian heat, more to come on that.

Review: Chanel Inimitable Mascara

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, its been crazy with the finals and the holidays. Despite the craziness of the last few weeks, I managed to test out a few great products and will have them up soon. First up: Chanel Inimitable Mascara. Not too long ago I posted about Chanel Exceptionnel mascara, which I love, however I think it has been replaced. The Inimitable mascara literally makes my lashes look fake! I have never had a mascara make my lashes look so long. The brush is almost rubbery with tons of small bristles that coat each lash. The formula is fairly thin which allows for multiple coats and it literally does not budge.

Review: Pureology PureVolume Conditioner

I have literally never been out of shampoo and conditioner but between finals and all of the papers I have been writing lately, I completely forgot to replace it while I was at home over Thanksgiving. Luckily I have the best mom in the world and she sent me some, I told her to get me whatever she wanted and I got Pureology PureVolume Conditioner. I am in love! Its a really thick creamy conditioner, but it packs serious volume! It has an acquired smell, sort of almondy-earthy but I like it. It doesn't linger too long which is nice. In addition to the volume, this conditioner is highly moisturizing and protects color. All around its a great conditioner!

Review: Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Anti-Blemish Daily Cleanser

Ladies, winter is upon us and thus so is dry skin. I finally ditched my daily exfoliating cleanser for a new, creamier version. Voila Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Anti- Blemish Cleanser. This creamy, blemish reducing cleanser is the answer to my skin whoas! Seriously! The cleanser moisturizes perfectly and helped clear up my t-zone zits in a matter of days. Also the light, flowery smell is delicious! While it may seem absurd that I, a 22 year old would use an anti-aging cleanser, my motto is that you can never start too soon!

Review: Pixi Engery Blush Duo

Also during my Target trip, I stumbled upon this little gem of a blush! Pixi by Petra, another high end line of cosmetics for Target, offers nice cosmetics in adorable packaging. I needed a new blush and decided to try the line's Energy Blush in "Pick Me Up" a great pinkish shade with a lighter pink highlighter, mixed together, the two create the perfect flush. The Energy Blushes each come with two shades, one color, the other highlighter, both are perfectly matched, so that when mixed they create the perfect combination of color and glow. Again the downfall is the price, at $21, it is a little steep for a product from Target.

Review: Jemma Kidd Mannequin Complexion Skin Enhancer

I have glanced at the new cosmetics offerings at Target several times and was less than impressed, however when I was shopping yesterday, I decided to give it one more try. Behold, Jemma Kidd Mannequin Complexion Skin Enhancer. This light, shimmery primer gives skin a much needed moisture boost as well as a summery glow, perfect for dull, winter skin. The primer is meant to be applied under foundation but today I was running late for class and I rubbed some on before running out the door, only to be asked several times if I went somewhere warm for break because my skin was "glowing." The only downfall to the product is its $24 price tag. Its so hard to plunk down that much for a product that comes from Target, but trust me once you buy it you'll be happy you did, especially in the winter months to come! Overall this is a great 1 step product!

Juicy will always hold a place in my heart for their comfy, elegant clothes and their yummy perfume! I was delighted to run across this adorable lip gloss ring at Sephora! This pave crystal ring holds a tiny pot of pink tinted, citrus flavored lip gloss. While I am excited about the gloss, I am more excited about the cuteness that is this ring! I mean seriously, could it be any cuter? This product is a total multi-tasker, it doubles as an adorable, sassy accessory as well as an emergency gloss stash! Daisy: Eau de Parfum

I am one of those girls who can never settle on a "signature" fragrance, however, last year I found one that still hold the #1 spot in my heart, Marc Jacobs Daisy. This lovely, fresh fragrance has notes of strawberry, violet leaves, ruby red grapefruit, gardenia and violet petals, providing for the perfect mix of femininity and spice. While I love this perfume, it is not really a "going out" fragrance. Enter the NEW Daisy Eau de Parfum! This new, more concentrated, version of the original is perfect for those nights when you need something a little bit extra. This will definitely be going on my wish list!

Sunsilk Captivating Curls

My hair is a annoying combination of curly/wavy/stick straight so I am always looking for products that will hold my curl, define my wave and keep my hair from being a crunchy mess. I think I may have found that in Sunsilk's Captivating Curls Gel/Cream. This product is a very pretty lime scented swirl of curl cream and curl gel. Each pump delivers the perfect amount of each product, providing for beautifully defined curls with no frizz or crunch. I tested this product out the other night and even went out without any hair spray, I was nervous, as you can imagine. When I got home about 6 hours later I immediately headed to the mirror to check out my hair, I was amazed to see that my hair looked just as good as when I had left. I was even more surprised the next morning only to discover that my curls were still intact....that NEVER happens!!!! This product has earned a permanent spot on my bathroom shelf!

Jergens Naturals: Renew

I have to admit, I am not usually a fan of Jergens, however, this new one has compeletly changed my opinion of the line. The light, fruity scent is perfect and the formula is super moisturizing. This luscious lotion contains grapeseed oil, blueberry extract and pomegranate extract to give skin a boost of moisture as well as slather it in antioxidants. While the formula is rather thin, thus far the lotion seems to be very moisturizing, even for my ashy winter skin. Another plus is that the formula is 93% natural and contains no Parabens, which is always a plus.

MUFE has just come out with this limited edition set of their amazing Aqua Eyes liner/shadow pencils. While the standard shades are always available, these mini editions are a holiday-only special. For $35, you receive 4 limited edition shades and one gold 'ol standby. Seriously? I think I am going to be running to Sephora to snap this baby up. I am particularly excited to test out the Purple, which is described as a metallic. Im thinking this could really play up my green eyes.

Charlize Theron: Gold Smoky Eye

Today as I was perusing Total Beauty, I stumbled across an article entitled, 7 ways to look gorgeous for the holidays, and knew I had to take a peak. Two of the seven looks caught my eye, first of which Charlize's gorgeous golden/brown smokey. Following the directions total beauty give, I applied gold shadow (Smashbox champagne) all over my lid and then a dark brown mixed with taupe in the crease (MAC Era and Espresso) then lined my eyes with a smudged combination of gold and taupe. Next I lined the inner lower and upper rims with UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero. While I like the way it turned out, its not an exact replica, I think I need to work a little bit more with the gold, I haven't found the right shade yet. I highly reccomend reading this article as they give some great ideas!

Today as I was reading a few of my favorite blogs, I stumbled across a post by Spoiled Pretty in which she discusses a great new website, Scent Map. This website is perfect for gift buying, especially for clueless boyfriends. You simply enter your current scent and the scent map will pull up four fragrances that it believes you will like according to the original scent you entered. I tested it out with one of my all time favorites and was ecstatic to find four new perfumes to test out!

Nars Makeup Primer with SPF

I absolutely love the original Nars makeup primer for its high vitamin content, its silky texture and the way it makes my skin feel in general. I am absolutely ecstatic to have discovered that my beloved primer now comes in an SPF version! I have pale, Irish skin and so I am constantly slathering on sunscreen and this product will allow me to cut back on the number of products applied...oh how I love products that multitask! The primer includes UVA and UVB protection as well as Active Phytoseed complex which provides intense hydration for parched skin (just what I need with winter well on its way)! Also this product is SPF 20, which is what dermatologists recommend for daily wear! So ladies, I highly encourage you to snap this product up! I promise, you won't regret it!

Super Orgasm!

Nars blush in Orgasm has been one of my no-fail beauty weapons since my sophomore year in high school and here I am, a senior in college and Im still using it. you can imagine my delight when I discovered that Nars was releasing a new shade, Super Orgasm, modeled after the original. This particular blush is an enhanced version of Orgasm with more goldish glitter, and overall brighter. I haven't been able to get my hand on it yet, but rest assured when I do, I am almost positive it will become a part of my daily routine!

Biore Skin Boosting Night Serum

I have one embarrassing guilty pleasure....Biore nose strips...I know I know they are gross but I am addicted to them! Anyways, as I was picking up my box of nose strips, I stumbled across this little wonder product. This light, silky serum is applied to skin at night and I kid you not makes you wake up looking like you just had a facial! The oil free formula evens out skin tone, reduces redness and improves the overall look and texture of skin. I have also found that this product makes an amazing makeup primer! It soaks into skin quickly leaving skin matte, dewy and ready for makeup application. I love this product for the dry, cold air that we have been having lately, it keeps my skin moisturized and glowing!

Exceptionnel de Chanel

After reading a review of this product from the ladies of Beauty in Real Life, I decided that I needed to haul my butt to Nordstroms and pick some up. This weekend while I was at home I had the opportunity to hit up Nordies and one of my scores was this lovely little tube that provides lash perfection...no seriously. At first I was skeptical of the brush because it has so many different sides, but I was amazed after one coat. Im hooked! I don't think any other mascara will ever be the same! Even one of my roommates noticed and asked what I was wearing. While the price ($28) is a little bit steep for a mascara, it is so worth it, plus its Chanel! The packaging is totally classic Chanel black with a small emblem on the top and a Chanel written in white across the bottom. Overall I am extremely happy with my Chanel purchase of the weekend!

One of my favorite beauty secrets to enhance my small, almond shaped eyes, is to line the inner rim of the eye. Now this causes problems for several reasons; first of all, my eyes are extremely sensitive and most liners irritate them, also because this area is constantly moist, my liner usually ends up under my eyes creating that I haven't slept in a year look. I may of found the solution these problems, Tarte emphasEyes, which is formulated specifically for the inner rim of the eye, which pretty much means it won't irritate sensitive eyes and it has lasting power! I was first attracted to this product because of it's clever name, however, once I read its claims and list of ingredients I was obsessed. Everyone has those sleepless nights (almost every night for me!) in which you wake up looking like a zombie with two black eyes. Well ladies, I may have just found your solution! Eye Slept Cream Instant Eye Brightener claims to instantly brighten the under-eye area in a matter of seconds. Also it is so light weight it can be applied over or under makeup! Sounds like a miracle product to me!

Yes, its true, I am about to share one of my favorite super secret products, Alto Bella Moisturizing Complex. Now I am almost 100% sure none of you have ever heard of this little delight, however get ready because it will change your life forever. I first stumbled upon this product at my salon, Rocco Altobelli salon, at home in Minnesnowta, it is designed by the owner of the salon himself, and used to only be available in the store. I would come back to school with dozens of bottles of it to make sure that I didn't run out and my roommates constantly begged to borrow it and often times stole it, no seriously, its that good! Luckily for my roommates, Alto Bella products are now available online! The moisturizing complex comes in a variety of scents including: vanilla, pomegranate, green tea, lemon verbena, Sea and Vitamin C, Milk, lavender, and ginger. My personal favorites are green tea and pomegranate! These little guys contain tons of vitamins and heavy non-greasy moisturizers to soothe and condition skin. I find myself desperately clinging to the last few weeks of summer these days and nothing reminds me more of summer than fruity fragrances. I would have to say that my all time favorite fragrance of summer 2008 is Burberry Summer. As I perused the fragrance aisle at Nordstroms, I stumbled upon this grape-fruity delight and never looked back! A spin off the original Burberry fragrance, summer has hints of grapefruit, lemon and musk. It is crisp and clean and yet extremely feminine. I highly suggest picking one of these babies up before they are put away for the season, you never know when you might need a little breath of summer!

Loreal Kids Grape Conditioner

So at my local Walmart, I was scoping out the conditioner scene when I stumbled upon this amazing products which is directed towards kids. Attracted by the bright color of the bottle I picked it up to give it a sniff....WOW! It smelled so amazing that I had to give it a try and now as im sitting in my room post shower, I can honestly say I am amazed. My hair, which is still wet, is amazingly soft and tangle free, I can't wait to see what it looks like dry as this product claims to tame fly aways! Also, because I dye my hair, I am always concerned about products stripping the color, however this product is extra gentle so I have no worries! If you are looking for an inexpensive conditioner alternative give this one a try!

Vaseline Update

So not only am I desperately sick with a horrible cold, but my skin is peeling and flaking....wtf? Anyways so last night in a moment of desperation I grabbed a glob of Vaseline and proceeded to rub it all over my face. As my face stuck to my pillow I began to think it was a bad choice, however when I woke up this morning my skin looked AMAZING! No SERIOUSLY...gone were the flakes and the peeling as well as the red splotches that go along with dry skin. Hello smooth, supple, radiant skin. Vaseline is most definitely going to be a new staple moisturizer for me, I don't think I can use it every night but at least a few times a week! If you haven't tried it yet, do it, right now!

The New Face Moisturizer?

As of late I have read several articles in which Vaseline Petroleum Jelly is praised as an amazing facial moisturizers. In most articles I read, women applied the product to their faces at night and woke up with baby soft skin. Hmmm...at first I was disgusted by the thought of putting this gloopy, sticky mess on my face but after careful thought, I decided it might not be a bad idea. After moving back to school, my skin has decided to revolt and has become dry and extremely acne prone, nothing I do seems to appease it, thus the idea of Vaseline left me wondering. My one issue that is keeping me from slathering it on is the mess it will make while I am sleeping. I don't know about you but I am a wild sleeper (my roommates can testify, I wake up looking like a troll doll!) and I am terrified that this is going to ruin my sheets/ bedding! The only idea I have is to designate a specific pillow case for those nights when I need a little extra moisturizing! Anyways Im definitely going to give this a try in the near future, so more to come!

During my weekly perusal of Sephora.com, I stumbled upon this yummy new product from Philosophy! This salt scrub smells like a coconut cake and is packed with tons of skin nourishing ingredients! As we get closer and closer to the cold weather, my skin gets paler and paler, thus forcing me to use the dreaded self tanner. One fool proof way of insuring a streak free tan is to exfoliate with a scrub prior to applying a tanner. Coconut Frosting is the perfect product for this as it is oil free and will not interfere with the application or development of a self tanner. Plus who doesn't want to smell like a tropical island in the middle of winter?

I have been an avid user of Neutrogena cleansers since middle school and while I stray every once in awhile, I find myself faithfully coming back. The new Oil Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit is no different, after only one day of using this product my out-of-control skin began to calm down again. The pink grapefruit extract is calming for the skin and get revitalizes your senses at the same time! I find myself waking up in the morning excited to use this because of the wonderful scent! While I love the traditional Oil-Free Acne Wash (its orange, im sure you've seen it!) this one is definitely a new staple in my routine. Also included in this line is an acne scrub and a body wash...I can't wait to try them!

I know, I know, Im a horrible blogger....but give me a break as school is currently ruling my life. Anyways, besides school, my skin is currently being a major pain in my behind! Its like this every single year....come back to school only to have my skin go into a full fledged revolt. Before I headed back I purchased Philosophy's Hope in a Jar which I heard was good for sensitive skin. Alas this was not the case for me. While I liked the scent of the product, the texture was a little bit too greasy, and almost immediately after I began using this product the skin revolt started (No...I know thats not the only reason my skin is acting up but I still think it contributed!). I am so disappointed because I know this is an HG product for many people. Anyways, better luck with the next moisturizer on my list!

Purity Foaming Cleanser

First and foremost I would like to apologize for the lack of posts in the last few weeks! Life has been absolutely crazy! School just started again yesterday and between moving in, setting up my apartment and going to class, I have hardly had time to breathe! Luckily though, I have had time to try out a few new products! One of which is Philosophy's Purity Foaming Cleanser. This earthy smelling cleanser seriously gets rid of every spec of dirt and makeup and on top of that it wont dry out your skin, talk about a miracle product! I have only been using it for about a week but so far my skin looks and feels great! If you like foaming products this is definitely the cleanser for you!

Make Up Forever HD Foundation Update

So this morning I hauled my tail over to Sephora to test out the MUFE HD foundation only to find that Sephora does not sell the HD in stores! You can imagine my dissapointment until the sales associate explained that the high lift foundation, which they do carry in stores is practically the same! She then helped me find the perfect (and ladies I mean PERFECT) shade of foundation to match my fair skin with a pink undertone! I raced home to apply the foundation with a Kabuki brush ala Kim Kardashian. To my surprise the foundation blended in perfectly with the Kabuki brush! Also the light creamy foundation provided great coverage in my "trouble areas" and simply evened out the rest of my face! Im not typically a huge fan of liquid foundation but this is definatly one that I would reccomend!

The new OPI line for Sephora has finally arrived and girls, I couldn't be more excited! Each polish rings in at approximately $9...what a steal! These polishes are formaldehyde free which is a definite plush for all of those of us who are environmentally conscious, also the polishes come in a wide variety of shades, making them a perfect fit for everyone. Personally I am drooling over How Cute is That a vintage pink coral and It's All About Me, a muted hot pink, but all 54 shades are gorge! Make-Up Forever High Definition Foundation

Ok I have a confession to make...I have never purchased or even tried a Make-Up Forever product, I know, I know, I should be ashamed of myself. After watching the latest beauty video on Kim Kardashian's website, I fell in love with MUFE's HD foundation, it makes her skin look absolutely flawless, I just hope it does the same for me! Kim and her make-up artist advise using a kabuki brush to buff in this foundation as it gives a nice sheer coverage thats lasts and lasts, just set with powder and you are good to go! While I love my Too Faced Foundation Wand, I am a little bit disappointed with the coverage it offers so I think I'm going to give this one a try! Let me know if you have tried it, love it hate it?

Review: Lorac Publicity Stunt Mascara

My second review from Sephora's Lash Stash is Lorac's Publicity Stunt Mascara. This is not one of my favorite mascaras from the kit. It doesn't particularly lengthen or thicken my lashes, however it did divide them nicely and made them look nice enough for day time. The smaller version does not have the comb in the picture, however I really don't think the comb is particularly necessary, anyways, thats besides the point, this mascara is simply a "standard" product, nothing too special but nice enough for daily wear. Look forward to the next review in the Lash Stash series.

Review: Blinc Kiss Me Mascara

Due to my recent stitches, I haven't been allowed to wear any makeup besides mascara, thus I decided to review all of the mascaras in the Sephora lash stash. My first review is Blinc's Kiss Me mascara in black. This was the first mascara I pulled out of the Lash Stash box and I was hesitant because of it's tiny tube as well as it's claim to "tube" lashes. However, I was extremely surprised to find that this mascara not only "tubes" lashes, it also amazingly lengthens and thickens lashes. Another perk is that this mascara seriously will not flake or even rub off! The only way to remove it is to use warm water and gently brush lashes upwards, some lashes require a little bit of pulling but otherwise its a cinch! This mascara makes my eye look wide and even without any other makeup it makes my entire face light up! This gets 5 out out of 5 from the college beauty addict! Look forward to the reviews of the other mascaras in Sephora's Lash Stash!

Eye of the day: Easy Day to night look!

Garnier Fructis Melting Hair Mask

The other night as I was browsing through the new issue of Glamour magazine, I read a blip about this new wonder conditioner from Garnier. Marketed as a "melting hair mask," this cream claims to repair damaged, over-processed hair from the inside out making hair shinier, healthier and stronger..oh and it smells delicious too! I picked it up today and have yet to try it but I have high hopes! Since I have gone lighter with my highlights, my hair has been dry and frizzy, especially when its so humid outside so I am constantly on the lookout for new deep conditioners. Hopefully this new mask will do everything it claims and become my new hg of conditioners!

Like I mentioned in the last post, it is often times difficult for me to use bright colors because my skin is so fair, however I absolutely adore this turquoise color from MAC so I decided to give it a try with a few browns. I actually really like the way the turquoise compliments the nude shades of brown, I think it just gives it that something special. Also this looks is so wild that it can't be worn to work! Eye of the Day: Subtle Purple Smoky

Finally! The long awaited (well for me at least) eye of the day series. I realize that these looks my be a little tame for many of you, but as a fair haired girl, it is difficult for me to use "fun" colors and not look like its Halloween. This is one of my no-fail eye looks. This particular photo was taken as a day look, however, its very easy to turn this eye into a "going out" eye, simply darken the creases and add more mascara. Ok side note, just as I was about to upload and open eye picture, I deleted it! Darn! Anyways, imagine this with green eyes! The purple and goldish flecks really make green eyes pop (also works for blue or brown!)

Last week as I was picking up a prescription at the drugstore, a giant yellow display caught my eye, naturally as it was in the beauty aisle, I was drawn to it. Behold Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express mascara. I ooooed and ahhhhed at the amazing, eye catching packaging and decided that I just had to have it. Here we are a week later and I am sorely regretting my decision. Not only does it not live up to its claim of 9X the volume, it dries out my lashes so much that they just end up looking clumpy and crusty. While I love the large brush as it covers every single lash, the formula just isnt what I expected from Maybelline.

The Rules of Summer Shaving

I'm sorry to say it ladies but that time of the year has rolled around again...the leg shaving months. While I love the summer months more than any other time of the year, I dread the constant shaving that must be done in order to keep my legs in bathing suit shape! Luckily I have blonde hair and only shave about every other day, however for you brunettes out there, shaving daily can be a big chore, so I decided to put together a little list of shaving dos and donts to help get the most of the summer months and make shaving just a little easier. Perhaps one of the most obvious rules is to use some kind of cream or gel, this will help protect the skin from the blades of the razor. There are so many products on the markets these days it an be difficult to pick the one that is right for you, my no-fail choice is always Edge, which is actually a gel geared towards men. I like this specific product because it is designed for men's beards and therefore allows for a closer shave (oh yeah...and it smells yummy too!). The second rule is Rinse your blade often, if you don't, you will essentially be shaving for no reason as the hairs interfere with the blades ability to cut. When shaving legs use long upwards strokes, this ensures the closest shave. The final rule is to MOISTURIZE! I know for me personally, lotion often times irritates my freshly shaved legs, if this is the case for you as well, try baby oil, not only does it moisturize, it also makes hair finer, which will in turn make shaving easier! Hopefully these tips were helpful in the ongoing woman vs. leg hair battle!

Eye Cream Roller?

I have an confession to make, I love gossip magazines! However, because of my crazy work schedule, I only ever get to read them at the cabin on the weekends. So this weekend, during my perusal of Glamour magazine, I came across an add for the Garnier Nutritioniste Anti-Puff Eye Roller. I was intrigued to say the least, how is it possible to apply an eye cream with a roller? Although I was skeptical, I decided to give this product a try as it claims to de-puff eyes and diminish the appearance of dark circles, just what a twenty-something college student needs. Thus I hauled my tush over to Target and picked one up, I looked like a hot mess in a college sweatshirt, under armour shorts, hair in a pony with a headband sticking up all over and last nights makeup still caked on, so needless to say I needed a pick me up. This product was my answer. I applied as soon as I got in the car, hoping for a miracle. The cool metal roller soothed my puffy under eye skin and the gel seemed to immediately tighten and brighten. While this product did not produce amazing results, I definitely looked more awake and less of a a zombie after one application. I can't wait to see what continued use of roller has in store for me!

The Comforter

During my recent love affair with Lush products, I stumbled across this amazing little pink bar of bubbles. "The Comforter" is a product in Lush's line bubble bars which are designed to fill your tub with yummy, moisturizing bubbles. While I was picking up my Angles on Bare Skin cleanser, I saw this and decided it looked too pretty to pass up! That night when I got home and crumbled a small amount of the blackberry scented bar into my tub and was amazed by the amount of bubbles created! Bubble baths are one of my guilty pleasures and I can only indulge during the summers at home so I take one every chance I get but bubble bath typically dries out my skin so much I have to apply tons of lotion to fix it! Not the case with this bar! Not only was the water a gorgeous shade of pink, it smelled delicious and I stepped out of my tub feeling like my skin had just been deeply moisturized! I can't wait to try some of the other scents, I have my eye on Pop in the Bath, Karma, Flosty Glitter, Creamy Candy and Amandopondo.

Too Faced Foundation Wand

I must admit that I have an obsession with Too Faced. I absolutely adore their girly packaging and quality products, so when I read Musing of a Muse's reviews of their Foundation Wand I just had to try it. After reading the Muse's rave review, I headed over to Sephora to check it out myself and I immediately fell in love! Not only is this product quick and efficient, it actually works and looks oh so natural, perfect for summer. The light foundation is sheer but very buildable and it also has a slight "glow" which makes your skin look absolutely radiant. The foundation comes in a wide range of colors to match any skin tone, and they are all named after cities (so cute! I wear "Paris") It only takes one-two pumps to cover my entire face so I think the wand should last me quite a while! I am looking forward to playing with my "magic wand" some more!

Angels on Bare Skin

After finishing my latest bottle of Proactive Gentle Formula, I decided I needed to try something new. Thus my love affair with LUSH began. I decided to head over to Mall of America and hit up the only LUSH store nearby. I talked to Christina who was amazing! Seriously she was so knowledgeable about all of the products and even offered to create an entire skin regimen for me to try and take home samples of. Being the beauty chick that I am, obviously I said yes! My regimen consists of Angels on Bare Skin cleanser, Tea Tree Spray Toner, Enzymion moisturizer and Fresh Pharmacy Spot Treatment. The thing that really sold me on LUSH is the fact that the products are so fresh, Christina even mixed up my Angels right in front of me! The consistency of the cleanser is going to be something that I will have to get used to as it is firm and grainy and you must add water and make it into a paste before cleansing. The toner and the moisturizer, however, felt amazing to my sunburned skin! I can't wait to purchase full sizes of all of my samples!

Today as I was waiting for my blonde highlights to process I came upon this lovely shade of lilac in Glamour magazine. Immediately after my hair was finished I headed over to Ulta to pick it up and honestly it looks even prettier on! I am typically an OPI "Pinking of You" but I decided to go for this purple as it seems fun for summer! Its very sheer, about three coats you you have a great pop of color! Overall a great find!

24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil

Ok ladies, I may have just discovered the HG of eyeliners- Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil. While I am not typically a black eyeliner girl, I decided to give it a try after being inspired by the lovely ladies on the set of Gossip Girl. I usually have problems with the black overwhelming my small eyes but not with this creamy pencil! The pencil goes on smoothly and allows a few minutes of "smudge time" before setting. Once it is set this liner does NOT and I repeat does NOT budge. To give this pencil the test of all tests, I decided to swipe it on before hitting the gym for a cardio session. Typically if I wear any type of eyeliner it is all over my face by the time I get done running. So this afternoon I hesitantly stepped of the treadmill and headed over to the mirror to do the dreaded post workout face check and.....nothing, absolutely nothing. My liner and mascara looked as if it had just been applied, I was stunned. After finding this liner, black eyeliner may become a staple in my beauty routine. I purchased 24/7 in an inky black shade called Zero but it comes in lots of fun colors including an aquamarine called Electric and a midnight purple called Lust. I can definitely say I will be running to Ulta soon to scoop up a few more shades!

I have to say that celebrity products are not ones that typically catch my attention as it seems that everyone has something to sell these days, however Kat Von D's new limited collection really caught my eye. While I don't typically wear red lipstick (the signature product in her line) I love her True Romance eyeshadow palettes, especially Ludwig which consists of colors from black to brown and everything in between. The palette is designed to create a customized smoky eye whether that is green, gold, brown or black. The shadows are silky smooth and last surprisingly long and seriously, could the case be cuter. Smashbox black with adorable silver rose designs, inspired by one of Kat's tattoos. The palette comes in two colors, Ludwig (pictured above) and Beethoven (consists of more blues and greys). It is not very often that you find an eyeshadow palette with such a wide variety of colors, it is the perfect fool-proof smokey eye tool, as Kat has already given you all of the colors necessary. This product is definitely on my summer "must have" list!

Get toned while you sleep

One of my sorority sisters uses the original Fat Girl Slim cream religiously and swears by it's dimple diminishing ingredients, so after giving the night time version a smell I decided to give it a try. To be honest I was quite skeptical of a cream that claims to tone...I though only the elliptical could do that! The first night I applied the product I was calmed by the faint smell of lavender, it was soothing and made me feel sleepy. The cream is very smooth and absorbs quickly; I rubbed for the instructed 2 minutes, threw my pjs on and hopped into bed. The next morning I didnt notice any huge differences, however my skin was very smooth. Tonight when I opened my jar of Fat Girl Sleep I was dismayed to find that it was almost empty, I have become accustomed to falling asleep smelling so yummy! Since my jar was almost empty I decided to examine the skin on my "trouble areas" in order to evaluate the product and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. While there is no "plastic surgery" difference, the skin on my thighs definitely looks smoother and tighter. The 6 oz jar has lasted me a little bit more than 2 weeks, while the cream is rather pricey at $38, it is worth a try, especially for those of us who like a quick fix!

The Foundation Diaries: Cargo Oil Free Foundation

Besides the current series I am working on with self-tanners, I have also been testing out several new foundations and this one is on my list! Cargo's oil free foundation sounds perfect for hot summer days. This foundation claims to remain matte even in the most extreme circumstances and it also comes in a wide variety of shades which should match just about any skin tone. I have had a long love affair with Cargo products, among my favorites is their bronzer...I just love the unique, simplistic packaging. The oil free foundation seems to be no exception. The foundation comes in a plastic envelope type package with a screw on lid, this container makes the product incredibly portable. I can't wait to try it!

Korres Gets Ready for Summer!

As I am sitting in my bed, simultaneously, watching Bones, deep conditioning, perusing Sephora.com and blogging, I came to the conclusion that I have not truly made the move from spring makeup to summer makeup, heres where Korres comes in. This amazing set, entitled Mediterranean Sun Color Collection looks perfect for those hot summer days when full on makeup is just too much. The kit includes illuminating bronzer, cherry full color lip gloss and the line's signature deep color mascara. I have been a fan of Korres for awhile now, their products are not only 100% natural but they also perform...and trust me ladies, I have high standards! While I do not yet own this kit (its just a matter of time!) I have tried the mascara and the lip color and love both of them. The mascara is extremely hydrating, does not flake and provides intense color...oh and it smells like olive oil. The lip gloss is super moisturizing, not sticky with just a hint of color and a great cherry flavor. The bronzer looks amazing too and I can't wait to try it. It contains Monoi oil which is meant to hydrate the skin and provide a "glow". Oh and the best part about this kit? Wallet Friendly Wednesdays: Mac Volcanic Ash Exfoliator

After reading several reviews of Mac's Volcanic Ash Exfoliator, I had to try it. Even the descriptions did not live up to the actual product itself. This stuff is seriously Holy Grail worthy! The texture is a little bit softer than sand but its also rather sticky, it does not drip at all which is a plus! The more you rub the product in the more the ash dissolves, leaving a creamy, foamy cleanser. The cleanser rinses away easily and leaves skin feeling smooth, soft and surprisingly moisturized. I have tried so many facial exfoliators, especially in the summer because my skin is so oily, but this one is by far the best!

Tanagement

As I mentioned in my last post, I have recently stumbled across several natural, paraben free tanners. Nature's Gate Tanagement is one of my new favorites! It is a gradual tanner that provides extremely natural color. While it doesn't smell great, the scent disappears within five minutes. I noticed a small change in color after the first application, however after the second I looked like I had just come back from a tropical vacation! Also, the fact that it has no parabens is always a plus for my sensitive skin!

Banana Boat Disappointment

As the second "faux-glow" product I have tried, I thought this would be my favorite after all of the great reviews I read about it. I was very disappointed. I loved the custom color dial and the smell faded quickly, however, it left hardly any color on my skin. I have fair, Irish skin and so I bought the lotion designed for "light" skin. You would honestly have to be pale as a ghost for this product to tan your skin. Even on the darkest setting I hardly developed a tan. I attempted to find lotion for darker skin but after stops at several Targets I have still been unable to find it. Overall I wouldnt recommend this lotion unless it is the first time you are using tanner and you need to build a good base. Don't worry though today I found several amazing paraben free self tanners at my local Whole Foods that Im going to give a try soon!

sunless tanner of the day

Ok so I have finally decided to give up tanning in a bed. Not that I have a habit or anything, I typically only use it before major events. Anyways, I have decided to dedicate the next few posts to sunless tanners in order to complete my quest for the holy grail of tanning lotions. I will include both tanning creams as well as gradual tanning lotions. My first review is Loreal Sublime Bronze Gelee. This particular product caught my attention because of the unique gel formula and I have to say it worked fairly well. It provided very natural color overnight. My only qualm is that the gel form takes forever to dry and leaves your skin feeling sticky for at least an hour- which made me worry about getting it on clothing and sheets. Overall though a very good tanner, particularly for those who want a deep color, quickly.

Underarmy?

So on my weekly perusal of sephora.com I stumbled across this minty little treat! This menthol based deodorant cools the delicate underarm skin as well as acts as an antiperspirant. I tried it this morning and so far I am pleased with the results, however I did not get a chance to work out today so I havent been able to test it under intense conditions, however, it works very well for everyday, plus the slight tingle upon application is very refreshing!

Hope in a Tube

In an effort to conserve my hard earned summer cash, I have resorted to using the thousand of products that I have under my sink. One of my most recent finds is Hope in a Tube, this nifty cream doubles as an eye and lip cream. The cream is designed to prevent and reduce the fine lines that appear around eyes and lips. I love the light texture of this cream, also it absorbs in record time which makes it perfect for underneath makeup. In only a week of use I have noticed that my undereye area appears brighter and smoother! This cream is definitely a keeper!

Amazing Blush Brush

Today I picked up my usual cream blush from Sonia Kashuk and saw this brush and was intrigued. Typically when using cream blush I apply it with my fingers or a sponge but I decided to give this brush a try. The brush works perfectly, it applies the cream formula so evenly it makes you look like you are flushing naturally! The brush an apply the blush with a light tint for day or a more concentrated tint for night! Overall a great purchase!

Mineralize

Today, after running out of my philosophy super natural, I decided to stop by my local mac counter and pick up the new mineralize foundation. I have to say I was hesitant to give it a try but I LOVE it. The texture is perfect, its not dry and matte or dewy but somewhere in the middle with a hint of shimmer. It provides amazing coverage and blends really well. The sponge is also great, like all mac sponges. My only issue so far is that it is hard to get the powder on the sponge, because hardly any powder comes out without shaking the whole thing, which creates a giant mess all over your bathroom floor! Overall I really like this product, it is perfect for light summer coverage!

Frosting Anyone?

After a long day of work and a killer headache, I decided to take a LONG bubble bath, in which I exfoliated until my skin was silky smooth...it was at this point that I ran into a problem. I was out of my Giovanni Raspberry Winter body butter, digging through by bathroom, I came across this lovely product which I completely forgot I had. I got this decadent body butter in a gift set from a friend and never even opened it. I'm not usually someone who likes to smell too sweet but this product smells AMAZING. I don't particularly like the smell of it in the jar because its super strong but within five minutes of application the smell fades to a light, pleasant scent. It is really the texture of the cream that I love the most, immediately after application my skin feels silky smooth. This product is definitely going to be sitting on my bathroom counter from now on!

Eco-Tools

After being on my covet list for over a month, I finally went out and bought the eco-tools five piece brush set and I must say it lives up to the reviews I have read. The silky soft bristles evenly apply powder, bronzer and blush. The concealer brush is also amazing, I used the brush on my concealer stick and then gently applied it and it looked flawless! The only issue I have with the kit is the eyeshadow shading brush. I felt like it didnt really "catch" the product which then didnt allow enough to get on my actual eyelid. Im going to try it again tomorrow and see if I can figure out a better way to do it! All in all I would highly recommend this set, the brushes are super soft and chic looking and they come with an adorable eco-friendly case! What more could a green girl ask for?

Loreal HIP Color Rich Cream Crayon

Today when I was picking up my Healthy Volume mascara, I stumbled across this little stick. A cream eye shadow and long lasting eyeliner, it sounded like a dream come true. I was hesitant because typically cream eyeshadows crease after an hour on me. Being the beauty junkie that I am, I decided to give it a try, I applied it immediately when I got home which was about 7 hours ago and still no creases in sight! I got it in Meticulous, a taupe/bronze shade which looks great with my green eyes. This is a great day time look, with just the right amount of color, it looks natural and subtly enhances my eyes! I would defiantly purchase another color. There are six colors total, (meticulous-bronze/taupe, Intricate-blue, perfectionist-black, Authentic-green, Attentive-gold and Unmistakable- pink) Im going to have to add all of them to my collection!

Healthy Volume Mascara

After reading several reviews online about Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara I decided to give it a shot. I had been using Shu Uemura Volume blast and have not been very impressed with it. I loved the giant brush of this mascara and the light earthy smell. One coat made my lashes instantly fuller and by the time I had two coats on my lashes were long and super thick- like fake eyelash thick! I think this might be my new Holy Grail mascara!

Another day of Sunless Tanners...

So on my continued quest for the perfect "faux glow" I stumbled across a new product from Neutrogena called Sun Fresh. This amazing grapefruit scented lotion tans skin in just four hours. I am so used to the "gradual" tanning lotion, that I was hesitant to try this instant formula, but nevertheless, on your behalf I gave it a try. The lotion was fairly thin and not uber moisturizing but perfect for the sticky summer weather coming soon. I loved the smell (compared to the Jergen's Skin firming Natural Glow which I have been using) and the lotion was easy to apply evenly. I was nervous to look in the mirror this morning, especially at my knees, elbows and feet/ankles, but to my surprise they looked fine, tanned even. Sun Fresh also comes in a foam formula which I haven't tried, however if you don't need the extra moisture the cream version provides I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by this quick performing product and would highly recommend it to any fair skinned girl who needs a cancer-free "faux glow."

Application-

After much experience (My Irish skin DOES NOT tan) I have discovered that it is best to first spread a thin layer of a light lotion over knees, elbows, feet and ankles first and allow it to dry for a few minutes. Next apply Sun Fresh, beginning farthest away from dry areas (ie: knees and elbows). Spread the cream on evenly and let dry for 5 minutes and you are good to go!

Tanning Bed in A Tube

As summer approaches, us fair skinned girls are desperately trying to get a head start on our tans without damaging our skin. Skin cancer has become a dominant disease in our society which is not surprising due to our obsession with obtaining a healthy "glow." I won't even try to claim that I am not guilty of hitting up the local tanning salon for a quick and easy tan but I do not condone it, especially after reading the many articles regarding skin cancer that have come up lately.

In several of my last posts I have reviewed self tanners, I have found a few that I love but am always in search a new one and thus I am obsessed with Too Faced's new instant bronzer/self tanner "Tanning Bed in A Tube," while I have not yet tried this product (its hard living in a small town miles away from the closes Sephora) if Too Faced other products are any indication, this tanner will be great. I love that it instantly bronzes the skin and gradually tans. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Smooth Operator

This light moisturizer is jam-packed with anti-oxidants and skin calming ingredients. This SPF 20 cream will be perfect for days spent in the sun. Also who could pass up the adorable packaging!

Moisture Surge Refreshing Eye Mask

This morning as I was perusing Clinique's website, I stumbled up on one of their newest creations, Moisture Surge Eye Mask. This product claims to re-hydrate the under eye area which in turn reduces puffiness and brightens dark circles. The pre-moistened pads are applied to the under-eye area for ten minutes and claim to deliver amazing results- I will definitely be giving these a try, especially with finals coming up.

The Art of Shaving for Her

The Art of Shaving's new beauty line includes this luscious rose scented shaving cream which I had to try! After reading rave reviews about this product at Total Beauty, I decided to splurge (Its $30 a bottle) and give it a try. I immediately fell in love! The light rosy scent coupled with the soft, creamy texture makes for an amazing shaving experience! Not only were my legs perfectly shaved, but the aloe and vitamin E smoothed and conditioned by skin to perfection. My legs had that fabulous healthy skin glow. No more skintimate for me, this high-end product did everything it claimed to do and maybe even a little more!

LolIShine Rouge

As a lipgloss girl, I am always hesitant to use lipsticks, I love the moveable, comfortable feel of glosses and typically sticks are very drying. This is not the case however, with LOLIShine Rouge lipstick by Shu Uemura. The stick has a great berry flavor, high shine and the perfect amount of color. I couldn't resist testing out all of this new collection's shades. My favorite everyday shad is 939, which is a perfect, mauvy-pink, just enough to enhance my natural lip color. All the shades are fabulous!

Biolage Cera-Repair

As I mentioned in my John Frieda post, my colorist, Chelsey, applied a wonder product to my parched locks. While this products is only available to licensed stylists, many salons carry it. The product is designed to repair holes in the hair shaft caused by heat and chemical damage. Im sure you have all seen the Pantene ProV commercials that shows the hair shaft being magically repaired by the protein in Pantene, this product actually does it. While the treatment can be pricey (around $15) It is totally worth it. The cera-repair in combination with the John Frieda Clear Color glaze and my hair is practically back to normal!

The Lippman Collection

As the summer season approaches, I have begun the search for the perfect summer polish. I may have found it in Lippman Collections "Day Tripper" a pinky-peach shade that lasts for a week at least! I do so much damage to my manicures, most of the time I don't bother to paint my nails, however this beautiful shade has captured my attention and I have a feeling I will be painting my nails more often.

Color Glaze

So this weekend I went back to my summer color- aka a very light blonde and noticed that my hair did not transition as easily as it has in the past. My fabulous stylist at Rocco Altobelli, Chelsey, gave me several small vials of Biolage Cera-Repair Pro treatments, while I liked these I wanted my shine back. While perusing the aisles of Walmart, I stumbled upon John Frieda's Clear Color Glaze and decided to give it a try. You can use the treatment daily in the shower or weekly. I chose to do the weekly as my hair is very damaged. I left the treatment in for about an hour (the box says 20 minutes) and then shampooed it out. Even wet my hair feels strong, healthy and soft, I cant wait to see it dry! I would definately give this one a try! It also comes in blonde, brunette and red to enhance your natural color.

Baby oil?

From time to time I take a peek down the baby aisle at my local Walmart to check out the new products. Products made specifically for babies are great because they are made for sensitive skin and often times have intense moisturizers. I read in a magazine recently that applying Johnson's Baby Oil Gel to your feet after exiting the shower can help soften and smooth calluses and decided to give it a shot (my feet aren't exactly flip-flop ready!) I was amazed to find that an hour after I applied the gel, my feet were already softer. I just reapplied it and put socks on to let it soak in overnight, hopefully my feet will have transformed by the time I wake up tomorrow! I also decided to apply the product to my newly hairless legs and my arms and I have to say I am amazed by how great they feel. This product will defiantly be one of my staple moisturizers from now on!

Nair Shower Power

Like every girl (especially those of us who live in sorority houses that have VERY small showers) I hate shaving my legs. I was complaining about it today and a sorority sister recommended Nair "Shower Power." At first I was hesitant as I have heard horror stories about allergic reactions to similar products but I decided it was worth a shot. Not only does this cream work, it didn't burn or irritate my sensitive skin at all! The only drawback is that you MUST apply the cream evenly or you will end up with hairy patches (this happened on one of my legs) and it doesn't smell the best but hey if it gets me out of shaving my legs for a week, I'll take it!

Iris

I am SO excited by this new fragrance from Prada. While I like Prada's traditional scent, it is not my favorite. Iris on the other hand, I LOVE. It has a clean, fresh fragrance that is girly and yet sexy and sophisticated at the same time. Its a little bit pricey at $70 for the smallest bottle but totally worth it. While I have a stash of favorite perfumes (including: Vera Wang Truly Pink, Lamb and Daisy by Marc Jacobs) I am always looking for a new favorite and I have to say this might be it! The only catch is that the fragrance can only be found at Nordstroms and Bloomingdales! Order quick before everyone else discovers this wonderful scent!

Shroom

I am always in search of finding an "everyday" eyeshadow and so far, nothing has beat MAC's "Shroom." The swatch does not do it justice, its really a creamy, gold with beige undertones. Its really subtle and yet sexy at the same time. I love that it can be worn alone with a brown or black liner or as a base for a dramatic smoky eye. The color is so versatile and is the only of my MAC eyeshadows (and I have a ton- just ask my roommate!) that I have ever needed to replace. The silky smooth texture goes on easily and lasts all day- or at least until I take my daily nap!

Buxom Lips

I think I may be in love. I have a lip gloss addition- no seriously, I have around 10 tubes in my bag at any given time. However, for this gloss, I'm willing to give all my others away! This intensely pigmented gloss (I use dolly, a rosy-pink shade) glides on smoothly and looks flawless with a cool, fresh scent. After a few minutes I was surprised to notice that the gloss tingled, I read the package a noticed that one of the ingredients was mint, which is always a plus! While the gloss doesn't last overly long- its color and texture cannot be imitated!

Nail Polish Pen

When I saw this at my local drugstore, being the beauty addict that I am, I was intrigued. I bought "Hot Pink Creme" and "Sheer Pink." I decided to practice with my toes, I clicked the pen the instructed 5 times and voila, nail polish appeared! The polish went on surprisingly easily and looked great. Another plus is that it dried in about 5 minutes, with two coats it only took me 10 minutes! Amazing I know! I love the bright, springy shade of pink, however when I applied the "Sheer Pink" to my nails I was disappointed. The color was streaky and rather a creamy-white shade than a pale pink. I took it off and applied the hot pink to my nails as well and I have to say its been three days and they still look great! I will for sure be heading back to CVS soon to purchase several of the other bright colors! Several other brands have these pens as well, however I have yet to try them.

Swell Volume

My lovely stylist at Studio 2000, recommended this shampoo, which happens to be made in my home state, which is obviously a plus! I don't typically use volume enhancing shampoo but I decided to give this one a try. I was, first of all, pleasantly surprised by the light fresh fragrance! The sulfate-free shampoo lathered surprisingly well and rinsed clean. I did not initially use the matching conditioner so I simply used one of my staples. After I towel-dried my hair it was easy to comb through and the light fragrance lingered. I blow-dried my hair the same way I always do, upside-down, right-side up. I was amazed by the bounce my hair had. Even after my daily straightening my roots were still full and healthy looking. I would highly recommend this product for people with short hair, although I lent it to a sorority sister with long hair and she loved it too!

Tree Hut Coconut Lime Body Scrub

Since, in preparation for spring, I have begun using a self tanner each day, I needed a fabulous body scrub in order for the tanner to work its magic. If you want soft, silky, luminous skin and a fabulous pre-tanning scrub, this is it! This thick, yummy smelling substance has small beads as well as a sandy texture, with no messy oil in sight! I used it in the shower and the smell was amazing, also its very easy to use standing up and because there is no oil the scrub doesn't run right off your skin while you're trying to rub it in! Also a little goes a LONG way, I have a feeling ill be using this tub well into the summer!

Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer

I know I've talked about Jergen's Natural Glow Express a lot, but I am newly obsessed with the firming moisturizer from the same line. This lotion, unlike the express, has a subtle shimmer when applied and absorbs fairly quickly. While the smell leaves something to be desired, by skin felt smooth and moisturized after I applied it. I am very fair and this tans my skin perfectly, no streaks and no discoloration.

A perfect foundation

Today I stopped by local superstore and decided to spend yet more money on cosmetics (what can I say, I'm an addict!) and stumbled upon Neutrogena Healthy Glow Sheers. Naturally I had to give it a try, so I ran out to my car and immediately applied the product (using a sponge). At first I wasn't really feeling it, it didn't seem to give me any coverage, however, once I got inside and took a second glance I was amazed how smooth and even my skin looked! While my skin has gotten a little oily since I applied it but I think if you brush on a little translucent powder it should be fine!

Paraben Free Moisturizer

There has been quite a bit of buzz lately regarding paraben and the negative effects it can have such as increasing the speed of aging. As a green girl at heart, I have always been in search of a fabulous paraben free moisturizer. I have been using Giovani Raspberry winter for a few months now and absolutely love it! It moisturizes better than any lotion I have ever tried, smells great and is free of harsh preservatives! If your skeptical at least give it a try!

Pronto Dry Shampoo

I have always been one of those girls who feels the need to wash her hair everyday. Not only do I have short hair, but it also gets oily very quickly! I have just discovered my miracle hair product! Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo is a powder based shampoo that you squeeze on down close to your roots and rub in and voila salon perfect hair without water! I tried it last night after I had worked out and my hair looked like it had just been washed! The yummy lemon verbena scent doesnt hurt either!
